Defence minister Mircea Dusa will participate in the anniversary ceremony of 812 'Bistrita' Infantry Battalion and 817 'Petru Rares' Prundu Bargaului Artillery Battalion on Friday, February 27, beginning with 10, 00 am.

The combat colors of 817 'Petru Rares' Artillery Battalion will be decorated during a ceremony held at the battalion's headquarters from Bistrita. Also, awards will be offered to the soldiers for outstanding accomplishments both in domestic and international missions.

Since 1996, the soldiers of the two battalions have participated in numerous UN and NATO-led missions in the theaters of operations from Angola (UNAVEM - 1996, MONUA-1998), Kosovo (BELUROKOS - 2001, 2002), Afghanistan (ENDURING FREEDOM - 2002, 2003, ISAF - 2010, 2011, 2014) and Iraq (ANTICA BABILONIA - 2004, 2005).
